PMUG holds regular monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. As is customary, several events happen during the evening.
- starting 6:30: the PMUG Answers discussion group meets
- starting 6:30.: Socializing
- 7:30 p.m.: the General Meeting begins
- around 9:30 p.m.: the meeting concludes with a members-only raffle
Our discussion group begins before the regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the same meeting room. Ask questions that you may feel take up too much time, are embarrassed to ask, or can’t be articulated well during the main meeting. PMUG Answers is led by Jeff Gorman of Creative Computing.
As you meet your fellow members, you will find others with similar interests and those with expertise who can help or suggest avenues towards solutions.
Past meetings address topics such as buying the right printer or modem, what the Internet is and how to connect to it, and using files created with Intel-based PC computers on a Mac.
For more information on the PMUG Answers discussion group, please contact Jeff Gorman (firstname.lastname@example.org.)
The main meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. with reports and sneak previews of upcoming products, highlights of recent and upcoming shows, Apple News, and club business.
Next follows the main attraction: the speaker’s presentation. Topics are varied and presenters may cover Macintosh or technology-related subjects.
Past meeting topics have included Mac graphics programs, Mac Website creation tools, the Global Positioning System (GPS), digital cameras, Microsoft Office, switching to the Macintosh from Windows, Travel on the Web, Mac accounting software, upcoming gadgets announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), video conferencing, receiving Podcasts on the Mac, genealogical research using the Web and the Mac, Apple’s latest version of Mac OS X, Mac Music programs, using iMovie and iPhoto, Mac finance programs, running Windows programs on the Mac, Digital Television, specialized search engines on the Web, and various trade show reports.
At around 9:30 p.m., the meeting concludes with a members-only raffle of items donated by vendors and members.
