Apple's iPad mini with Retina Display, Silicon Power A30, and Apple TV with Remote

The Holiday Party and Silent Raffle continues this year, which is PMUG’s yearly fundraiser event with food and merriment, a chance to help PMUG, and possibly win Apple related products.

The Grand Prizes will be an iPad Mini with Retina Display (donated by PMUG), a Silicon Power Armor A30 1TB Rugged 2.5-Inch USB 3 External Portable Hard Drive, and an Apple TV with Remote (donated by Laura O’Neill) — all are for current members only.

Please don’t sign up for non-food supplies as there are leftover items from last year yet to be inventoried. We’ll update you with those needs as soon as we can.

Food donations: any leftovers should be taken home.

The Silent Raffle is similar to a swap meet, but more organized and fair. Everyone at the meeting can donate any Apple related product and buy raffle tickets. Tickets are 1 for $5, and 12 for $10.

Members’ Raffle Donations are asked to be in good working and cosmetic condition: no CRT monitors; (junk should be recycled in your county or municipal recycling program.) New World Macs only, Intel Macs – OSX 10.4 Tiger (2005) or newer, USB, Firewire equipment (no SCSI, ADB, CRTs.) iPhones must be unlocked, and books must be 2010 or newer. If not won at the raffle, donors must bring non-claimed items home.

Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
 
Parking is around the loop road on Griggs Drive/Billie Ellis Lane, except where marked as no parking and assigned parking. Parking in lot spaces is not permitted, and violators will be towed.
 
Internet Access: Xfinity WiFi Internet connection available.

The evening’s schedule:

  • 6 – 7 p.m.: Meet & Greet; Unload food and raffle items; raffle ticket sales
  • 7 p.m.: Dinner Members can sign up for pot-luck, other food items, and helpers. Please don’t sign up for non-food supplies as there are leftover items from last year yet to be inventoried. We’ll update you with those needs as soon as we can.
  • 8 p.m.: Raffle Begins: only members in good standing may enter the raffle
  • 8:45 p.m. – 9 p.m.: cleanup and loading of food and raffle items

At 8 pm, the raffle opens. Each bidder places ticket(s) in cups next to the items they desire. The bidder must be present to win. No items can be held or shipped. The emcee picks one ticket from each cup and awards the winner their prize. Everyone has a chance to win and can submit more than one ticket for any item.
