December 11, 2012: “OS X Security — A Basic Guide to Keeping your Mac Safe”

So you just got a new Mac and are excited to start using it. Macs have a reputation for being easy to use and secure, so why not dive right in?
Well…

STOP! The truth is no computer system, including your shiny new Mac, is immune from attack. While there are no true viruses for OS X, that doesn’t mean Macs are impenetrable. They’re still vulnerable to malware, spyware, spam, trojans and user error.

PMUG’s Khürt Williams will show how with just a few precautionary measures, your new (or old) Mac can be more secure than most any other consumer technology out there and stay as safe as possible.

About the presenter…
