Letter from the Princeton Public Library about “Ask a Mac Pro”

A few of our club members, Ewa Zak, Ben Britt, and Laura O’Neil have been instrumental in helping build a bridge between our club and the local community. These members have given of their free time to help the Princeton Public Library launch their Macintosh lab. Here is what the library had to say:

Dear Ewa, Laura, and Ben,

I want to thank you so much for all of the amazing service you have and continue to provide for the library and our customers. This summer series of Ask the Mac Pros has been incredibly popular and we have heard really wonderful feedback from our customers. They, and we, appreciate all the time and expertise you have donated to the library by volunteering for this series. It keeps growing in popularity, too! I saw from the sign-in sheets that for this past Monday, we had 13 attendees, and 7 attendees on Wednesday – and those were only the ones who signed in, so I must imagine there had been even more! That is incredible.

I have been meaning to pass along the [link](http://www.princetonlibrary.org/blog/2012/05/our-very-own-genius-bar) to a blog post I wrote about the series this past May, announcing the return in June: Aside from our website and the tech calendar, I think the biggest reason we have had such a turnout is because of the positive word-of-mouth – all the customers leaving and saying such wonderful things about the help you have given, and then telling others to come in and experience it, as well! Have you noticed any new PMUG membership from the library sessions?

I would also like to introduce over email Janet Hauge, who has been a librarian at PPL for two years and recently took on a new role as Technology Initiatives Librarian. She is coordinating our Technology Education Series this coming fall, with Janie and me assisting, and will likely be working with you, as well, if you would like to continue with the Mac Pro session again in the fall. I have copied her on this email.

See you all next week!

Best,
Erica
